Texas Family Fun-Splashway Waterpark & Campgrounds

For the last several years, my family and I have been enjoying Splashway Waterpark & Campgrounds in creating family fun memories. It has definitely been a top waterpark and campground destination for us and we look forward to it every year.

When we visit the park we normally stay in their cabins for our over accommodations. Their cabins have a fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom, bedding, towels, screened-in porch, outdoor fire pit along with a picnic table. In 2023, they have added NEW king cabins to their property.  The King Cabin features a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, a loft with four queen-size beds, an additional full-size air mattress, and the bathroom is larger than the regular cabins. The King Cabins are furthest from the water park so I would recommend renting a golf cart during your stay.

My kids always have the best time on the campground. They end up making new friends and always look forward to their annual jumping into the lake plunge. Isn’t that what summer is all about? The great outdoor memories that will last a lifetime.

Why Choose Splashway Waterpark?

As a mom of 3, I look for family vacations/activities that are focused primarily on a family. Splashway Waterpark does just that. Family is their main focus in all that they do. Everything was designed with family in mind. They have thought of everything to make a stay and visit to their park one that is not only memorable but fairly easy for parents to plan. But most importantly, for kids and parents to enjoy too. It’s a lot of work to travel with kids. When you can go somewhere that helps to make it less stressful and easy, it makes a world of a difference.

What Is Inside The Texas Waterpark & Campground?

Besides the water slides etc. This park has so much more. The campground offers SO much to do, for ALL ages. Playgrounds, Volleyball Court, Putt Put, Laser Tag, and you can rent a golf cart to easily get around the campground.

Campground Attractions 

Lost Oak Hiking & Biking Trails – Walk, run, or bike our new trails! Bring your own bike or rent one from the Adventure Station.  Jumping Pads – Centrally located in the campground, we have two different sized jumping pads kids will love.

The Dueling Splash Blasters is another fun waterslide that was revealed in 2019! It sends riders up steep inclines, soaring through saucers, all while racing another rider to the finish. Scroll down to see who won when I raced the older kids.

Helpful Information Before You Visit Splashway Waterpark & Campgrounds

Location:

Splashway Waterpark & Campgrounds is located about 1.5hrs Northwest of Houston. Once you get to the waterpark, parking is FREE.

Helpful Waterpark Info:

The waterpark is broken up into several areas; toddler areas, youth areas, slides, and pools. Inner tubes and life vests are all provided by the park for FREE. Towels are not provided but if you forget to pack one you can purchase one at the gift shop for less than $20.

If you need shade during your visit, you can rent a private Cabana for an additional fee. There are many covered tables available throughout the park, but they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. I would advise getting to the park early and claiming a spot.

If you need a locker to hold your belongings, there are several size options available for you to rent, along with a $10 deposit that you get back once you return your key.

When it comes to food & drink the park does allow you to bring your own cooler. But glass, alcoholic drinks, and knives are not allowed. If you don’t want to bring anything from home, there are food options available at the park for purchase.

We enjoy grabbing something to eat at the Hideaway. It’s a full-service restaurant and grill. Relaxed dining setting (indoor/outdoor tables). Serving up delicious southern family favorites on the menu.

Other food options:

• Tortugas Tacos & Cantina – Located near the Dueling Splash Blasters. This new eatery serves up tacos, nachos, and more. You can also grab a cold beer to enjoy on the patio or at your cabana!
• New Coffee Bar: Located near the front entrance. It features artisan coffee and smoothies.  It opens before opening and great for a quick pick-me-up any time of day.
• Food Trucks: There are several food struck options

If you decide you want to spend the night (or nights), you have several options.

• Family Bunkhouses – Is perfect for large group camping option! Sleeps up to 20pp.
• Cabins- Sleeps up to 10pp
• King Cabins- Sleeps up to 10pp
• Cottages- Sleeps up to 5pp
• RV Sites
• Tent sites
